UPDATE: SUPER BOWL, NOT SO SUPER BUNK

superbowl-18

This years Super Bowl turned out to be one of the best games ever. The first half was back and forth and looked as if Arizona would go into the half with the lead, when a senile Kurt Werner throws a gift wrapped lob right into the arms of James Harrison, who then takes it 100 yards for a touchdown and damn near dies in the process. Laying flat on his back in the end zone for what seemed like an eternity.

In the fourth quarter it looked as if Arizona had the game on the lock with a Fitzgerald touch down. The eggs were in the cooler; the Jell-O was jiggling (what up Chick). But Pittsburgh, as they’ve done all year, pulled a rabbit out of their hat and put together an incredible display of the 2-minute drill, ending with a Santonio Holmes miraculous, toe tapping catch, in the back of the end zone to win the game. Making Pittsburgh the only team in history to win six Super Bowls. I stand corrected. Great game!

SUPER BUNK XLIII

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals… This is the match up, I’ve been waiting to see for years! Not! This was supposed to be the year that The Cowboys and The Steelers met in the bowl. That would have been history. But the ever-choking Tony Romo made sure that didn’t happen. Oh, well next year. Or the year after. But I’m not bitter. Anyway back to this match up (I use that term very loosely), I’m hoping to have consumed enough German beer and Triple OG, to numb me to the pain. I don’t believe you can completely count the Cards out. They’ve got a veteran QB in Warner, Fitzgerald is a beast and their core of running backs are no joke. But with Pittsburgh having the best defense in the league they should be able to handle the Cards onslaught. And I expect Pittsburgh’s offense to put on a clinic against the Cards marginal defense. I think it will be close in the beginning but by mid 3rd quarter Pitt is going to run away with it. Winning The Bowl for the sixth time and make history (shut up Boog). But mark my words; Dallas will be there next year. Or the year after. Give or take a couple years.
